Representatives from more than 175 colleges and universities will participate in the Fall Southern Connecticut College & Career Fair which will be held at the Hartford HelathCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport on Tuesday, October 1. The event is free and open to all high school students and families.

Representatives from four-year colleges, two-year colleges, technical and business schools, and several businesses, the service academies as well as the various branches of the military will be on hand to answer questions and offer information.

The College & Career Fair is a timesaving opportunity for students and parents to gather a lot of information at one time. In addition to asking questions, students and parents will be able to set up college interviews, pick up literature and learn about the various financial aid programs available.

Before you arrive at the College & Career Fair, check the list of participating colleges and schools found on page 4 and select the ones that most interest you. If you have time, research these colleges by reading information in your counseling office or by checking out guidebooks or websites. Write up a short list of questions to ask admission representatives.

To compare several schools, plan on asking the same questions at each table.

Read through this issue of College Fair Guide. There are many articles, charts, useful hints, and items of information which will be helpful to you. The more prepared you are for the College & Career Fair, the more you’ll get out of it.
