We believe if colleges were more open, people’s minds would be more open too. Because if all kinds of students got degrees, all kinds of people would have new opportunities. And with every new opportunity, the world transforms.
This isn’t something that Mercy College merely believes in. It’s something we do. It’s our mantra. It’s our mission. It’s our purpose.
We have the advantages of a private college — like small class sizes and a renowned mentorship program — and we offer them at a tuition rate closer to that of a public college.
Mercy College is here to encourage your personality, your professional growth and your passion. We’re the Mercy Mavericks, and we’re open to whoever you are.
Programs & Campuses that Inspire
There are tons of options for study at Mercy. We have 90+ degree programs in five academic schools; Business, Health and Natural Sciences, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Education and Liberal Arts.
Our Dobbs Ferry campus. has 66 sprawling acres right on the Hudson River in Westchester. You can live on-campus in our residence halls, and it’s only a 40 minute train ride into New York City.
We also have bustling campuses in Manhattan’s Herald Square on 34th Street and in the Bronx’s Hutchinson Metro Center. No matter your campus, you’re a short distance from some of the best professional opportunities in the world.
A Brand New MercyManhattan
We’ve renovated our New York City campus in Manhattan to add 95,000 square feet of high-tech classrooms and multi-use common spaces. And for fall 2020, we’re offering Dorm34—our brand new dormitory suites with views of Herald Square. You could be one of the first to live at Mercy right in Midtown, in the middle of the greatest city on earth and blocks away from your career-starting internships.
A Personal Mentor from Day One
Almost every college has advisers, but at Mercy we take it a step further — we give you a personal mentor who’ll help you excel academically and socially, and be your go-to person whenever you want support.
As a Maverick, you’re never alone when it comes to navigating financial aid, choosing the right major, understanding degree requirements, registering for classes and tracking your academic progress.
Beyond the Classroom
Mercy focuses on giving students the real-world knowledge and skills that will make them stand out in a crowded field. It’s why so many of our students start internships as early as freshman year and get a foot in the door at some of the best companies in and around New York City.
Our faculty of experts are excited to share networking opportunities and decades of career experience with you. And the Mercy’s Career and Professional Development team will work closely with you to build your résumé and hone your interview skills.
Mercy’s state-of-the-art facilities give students access to the equipment and settings they’ll experience on the job. You’ll find them gaining hands-on experience while:
• training as health professionals in the College’s Clinical Simulation and Learning Labs
• mixing audio in the Music Production and Recording Arts Studio
• swapping stocks in the School of Business Trading Room
• working with real clients in the Business Incubation Center.
Affordability
A college education should be accessible, and open to whoever has the talent and drive for it. Mercy College has one of the lowest private tuition rates in New York — our undergraduate tuition rate is just $19,578 a year for full-time students, about half the cost of many other private colleges and universities in the area.
Financial aid, including merit and need-based scholarships, helps most of our students fund their education and minimize debt. Initiatives like our Mercy Scholars program even allow exceptional students to attend Mercy without paying any tuition.
Mercy Maverick Culture
Mercy’s thriving campuses are home to over 50 student clubs and activities — and students can easily start their own. The College has 16 honor societies and an award-winning student newspaper, The Impact.
Our 10 NCAA Division II athletics teams compete on the College’s new athletic turf and in Victory Gym. They train in a 5,000-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center. Our intramural and club sports programs mean that anyone with the desire to play can join in the fun.
Classes are small at Mercy, with 92 percent of undergraduate classes having fewer than 30 students and 50 percent having fewer than 20 students. It’s all about giving you that one-on-one attention you deserve.
