Come Find Your Wings at Niagara University

In order to fly, you need a place to take off. At Niagara University, you’ll find community around every corner. Founded in 1870 with the Vincentian tradition of service-learning, NU is now the home of five academic colleges, two campuses, 19 Purple Eagles Division I athletic programs, 100+ clubs and organizations, more than 4,000 students, and a legion of individuals who have all left better than they came.

Prepare to Soar

With more than 80 majors (plus more than 60 minors, six pre-professional options, 13 accelerated master’s programs, and 30+ graduate programs in the United States and Canada), Niagara students are immersed in meaningful real-world learning opportunities from the moment they set foot on campus, and every moment will change you. The university provides cutting-edge on-campus labs and spaces for students to engage in hands-on learning; numerous internship, research, and placement opportunities; and personalized instruction thanks to a 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio.

Discovery Awaits

Niagara’s colleges of Arts and Sciences; Holzschuh Business Administration; Education; Nursing; and Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management, offer programs at the baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral level. All five of the University’s academic colleges have received the highest rankings from the top accreditation boards in their fields. In addition, the University offers an award-winning Academic and Career Exploration program for students who are undecided about their academic major.

Our university faculty are industry-focused and experts in the field, with 91% earning the highest degree in their field. They serve as both professionals and mentors to Niagara students, often working alongside them in research or providing network and career advice as students prepare for their next step.

In addition, more Niagara students participate in high impact practice (which involve engaging in one or more internship, research study, study abroad or other learning opportunity outside of the classroom) than other institutions. Seventy percent of first-year NU students engage in high impact practice (compared to 57% of students nationwide), while 95% of NU seniors participate (compared to 84% of other students).

Find Your Value

There are indisputable lifetime benefits to a private, high-quality university education. Niagara University is committed to making tuition accessible for every admitted student, so we will work with you to reach your goals. Consider that 99% of our admitted students receive financial aid (reducing the amount of loans and out-of-pocket expenses), with $53.1 million invested by the university in student aid.

Combined with our rigorous academic experience and exceptional post-graduate outcomes, you can afford to see yourself at NU. Our ability to offer a high return on education investment is why U.S. News and World Report rated us as the top “Best Value” university in the North.

Find Your Best Self

As the first Vincentian university established in the United States, Niagara prepares students for success while emphasizing service to the community in honor of St. Vincent de Paul. Students work with numerous community organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, Opportunities Unlimited, and the United Way. Whether it’s preparing income taxes for the elderly, tutoring urban elementary school students, or conducting breast cancer research with professors, Niagara students strive to assist the less fortunate.

This educational approach encourages students to ignite positive change in the lives of others, while developing the technical and critical thinking skills that employers crave. It’s what makes a Niagara degree a coveted 21st-century credential and helps the University’s alumni translate their practical education into top jobs within their career fields. According to a recent survey, 97% of NU graduates reported being employed or enrolled in graduate school within one year of graduation.

Find Your Space

Cross the bridge to Canada for the short ride to Toronto, tour the legendary Niagara Falls, or enjoy the culture of picturesque Lewiston.  The world is within your reach at NU.

Nestled on a 170-acre scenic campus on top of the Niagara Gorge overlooking Canada, the variety of locations and attractions around Niagara University means students can customize their living experience to who they are, and want to be. Our campus creates a sense of belonging for students, becoming their home away from home. The suburban setting combines the old and new; both ivy-covered buildings and modern architectural structures line its picturesque landscape.

Once you’re here, it’s easy to see how where we are is so much a part of who we are. It’s why our students leave as global citizens who are world-ready.
